What is Email2Database?
photos/1.jpgEmail2Database is a tool that automatically extracts contents from received emails and launch database operations. It works like your email application but, instead of showing emails, Email2Database analyzes its contents looking for predefined pieces of text. The extracted pieces of text are then used to perform database or other kind of operations.

The 3 Email2Database steps
photos/2.jpgEmail2Database divides the process in 3 well defined steps:
1 - Download emails from the email sources (IMAP and POP)
2 - Extract pieces of text from each email following the rules set in the field extractors.
3 - Launch the database actions. (Ms SQL Server, MySQL, any ODBC supported database, Excel and TXT files)

Easy to set up
photos/3.jpgConfiguring what Email2Database has to extract from the the received emails is very easy. For each piece of text to be extracted only two rules must be set: what is the starting delimiter and what is the ending delimiter. Between those positions is the piece of text. Email2Database will apply these rules each time an email is received.

Database integration
photos/4.jpgEmail2Database can work with the most popular database engines: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, any database that supports the ODBC standard and also Excel and TXT files.

Overall workflow
photos/5.jpgThe diagram above shows the Email2Database workflow. The 3 well defined steps are separated by the arrows. On the left you can see the email sources. The emails flow to Email2Database where the pieces of text are extracted (shown as a marker in the diagram), finally, the extracted pireces of text are used in the database actions.
